iKeePass App Reviews

Read only. Not possible to add an entry

The app reads password files and can show the information. The password file can be downloaded from the dropbox. Big problem that I did not learn from the description: The app can not create new enties. It is for passwords reading only :( So no possibility to create a password on IPhone and sync it with PC :(

Very difficult

You need a external server for store the database.

So bad words cant describe

I waited a year for this app to finally make to the app store. Now I know why it was rejected so many times. This is by far the worst app I have ever downloaded. It is not even usable! There is no help or documentation to let the user know how to use it. You cant even create a new database to store your passwords. The sample included with the app prompts you for a password. What is the password? How am I suppose to import my other keepass databases? I want my money back.

not ready to be released yet

wait for a long time for this app. I though it will be the must have app when Apple finally approve it. But, it seems its still a long way to go. I saw somebody said Apple released the old version, is this true? anyway, thank you to author and keep going

Totally useless

There is nothing I can do with this app.

OK for a first version

The database sync procedure is a bit tricky but works fine once setup. The two major flaw are that the comment field is not expandable (you only see the first 30 char) and theres no copy function. Great for the price but needs these two functions to be perfect :)

Needs serious polishing

Well, like most other people who reviewed this app, Ive been waiting for a LOOONG time to use my Keepass DB. Unfortunateley there are a lot of things to fix: no support for keyfiles (that Ive seen anyway), no copy function and somewhat flimsy interface. Nonetheless I believe there is some hope for this and although I wouldnt recommend to buy now, a later version might be a good purchase.

Thought it would be better.

Doesnt even say in the write up that you cant use Keepass 2 files. What a waste.

does whats advertised

it does exactly whats they say it does, excellent job! looking forward to the next version!

Good start as such app is needed, however...

Given the Apples high standards of their GUIs look-and-feel, the applications interface and functionality needs to be improved. To summarize my experiences: - Not very good support. The website is way too minimalistic and not very helpful to an average user. - No synchronizing between PC and iPhone. Data on the iPhone is read-only. - Notes field is too small - cuts off text. - No copy&paste. - Must restart the app to change databases. Whats good: - Ability to import a KDB database from your local network or even Dropbox. - Would like to see the next version - app could be very useful. - Users can hide the password.

Awesome update!

Icons are no longer pixelated. This makes the GUI look a lot better. We can now copy passwords without needing a URL. This was sorely needed and finally delivered. Good application and does its job well. Configuration tips are on the website. Very simple and a good port of Keepass to the iPhone. The developer works hard on upgrades which is a good plus. Cant wait to see whats next.

Works

I love the desktop app. iPhone app worked well for me until the latest update, I cant get to my passwords any more. Only can access the backup folder. Im looking forward to the next update.

Cant open database

I tried repeatedly to open the database using dropbox public folder as a server - no luck.

Needs work

It does what i need. Not intuitive though. Heres how you make it work: 1. Keepass v1.x (kdb) in dropbox public folder 2. Log into dropbox website 3. Navigate to public folder 4. View public URL for file 5. Launch ikeepass 6. Enter URL in server field without filename (click edit button) 7. Click + button to add 8. Enter db name (name.kdb) Note #1: Set "use local db" to No to synch newest file from dropbox(need wifi or data plan... ) Note #2: You can create a trigger in keepass 2.x to auto export the kdb to your dropbox (google keepass export trigger) -not much functionality, but clean and allows you to view keepass files -Currently has a bug where my entries have to be under the General group, I cant navigate other groups.

Some work to do...

Love the windows, Linux and KeepasX on OsX for some years now but the Iphone version really needs some enhancements. Sorry with all Apple delays about crypto issues. Pls keep up. Some $ waiting for you if it gains popularity ;)

Unable to load db from Dropbox

Followed the instructions on the website on using dropbox to load my db, but couldnt get it to work. No error messages were given. Just a return to the main screen with no db.

To slow to open

I like the windows version, but i find this version to slow to open.

Brutal

Love the windows version, but this isnt even close.

A promising start

Well pleased to have access to my KeePass database on my iPhone, even if it is only read-only for now. Current version (1.2) has only one noticeable bug - if a folder contains sub-folders but no password entries, the folder contents is inaccessible. Easy workaround - place a dummy entry in the folder. Also note that if youre sharing one database with another device and you always want to see updates youve made there, youll need to switch off Use Local Database to force it to re-download the database file. Conversely, whilst youve made no updates you can switch this feature on to speed up opening.

Can I Get My 99 cents Back

Ive used KeePass on my PC for years and love it. I figured iKeePass would compliment the program, but boy was I wrong. It didnt sync all my passwords, changes the order of what it does sync, adn it took me over an hour get a sync to work. Im looking for another app and this one is in the garbage can.
