iKeePass App Reviews

Works as advertised

iKeepass may not have the most intuitive interface but as the only Keepass game in the iPhone town, it does the job. Working fine with Dropbox public folder.

Crashes every time.

Horrible! Every time I login to database the app crashes. The previous version didnt do much and had no features but at least it was usable.

Does not support kdbx file format

The only reason why I cant give it 5 stars is the lack of support for the kdbx (Keepass v2.x) file format. This means I find myself constantly exporting to kdb format, and cant update anything from my iPad.

Now worthless

The previous version worked; now its again dysfunctional because passwords cant be copied.

Tight

This app is awesome...GUI exact same as original sourceforge version. Ignore the developers translation and short description...you cant ask for much more on a password app...keep at it Karsten, utilities always take a while to get off the ground. Signed...a diehard KeePass user.

Version 2.3 DOES NOT WORK AT ALL

App fails right after startup, Very bad support web site. $1.13 in a few hours wasted trying to make it work. DONT BUY THIS ONE!

Does not work anymore...

Completely dead on my iPad 2 since the ungrade to the 2.3 version... I tried to uninstall it and re-install several times, nothing... The app just barey flashes and closes by itself. Purchased the new KyPass and works like a charm with the Dropbox integration. It even allow the .KDBX modification !

Ikeepass 2.3

I bought this app for my ipad2 in March. It was functional for a time, but clumsy to use, but the author was promising upgrades to it. The 2.3 update basically broke it for me. When you click on the wheel to select the database it crashes right away. Then, the next time you launch it, it crashes immediately before you even get to the selection wheel. The IOS5 update didnt magically fix it. Even deleting and reinstalling the app does not solve the issue. It will even crash selecting its test database. I rate this a ONE (since zero isnt an option) and suggest that it be pulled off the App Store.

Finaly good

Finally this app deserve a 5 stars. It works well and I love new GUI. For five stars, it needs write mode. Not only read mode.

Performance improved, still unintuitive

The new GUI feels much smoother but is so weirdly designed... This is the 3rd major GUI redesign (within 7 updates, over less than 2 years) since I bought iKeepass a couple years ago (when it was pretty much the only Keepass app for iOS). Author seems to work on it very sporadically and competition released better products over time. I recommend KyPass (best) or MiniKeepass (free) rather than iKeepass at the moment.

Disappointed no local db

I was very disappointed that there is no local db option. I do not trust storing so much access information on the net. The encryption used is good, not great. I understand the US export restrictions on encryption so did not expect better but did expect a local option.

Perfect application for PC, but very primitive for iPad

I have been using PC version for several years and it is perfect. The iPad version is very primitive to point of being useless. Normally in PC version you click website link ( your bank for example) and it opens that site. Then you go back to this iKeePass and copy bank card number and paste it into open web login, go back and copy password and paste it into logging again. You can go back and forth any time. In iPad version it just copies password and nothing else. Site links are not actual links, just text. You have to write all info on paper and then manually type it into logging site. It look fancy, but the substance is not there. I contacted already the developer, but nothing is happening. I think they never use it and never tested it in iPad.

DO NOT UPDATE!

Made the update to the latest version, as usual... but Im no longer able to open my KeePass file!! File is sitting in DropBox, the app fetches the latest version, but it keeps saying "UNKNOWN ERROR" after typing the password. The same file DOES open on my PC. PLEASE FIX THIS!

Bug...

When you modify a record, and a field is empty, ikeepass write in this field another data from an another record. Drop box dupplicate the file AND after the file is corrupted too on my iMac. My database is corrupted now ;-(

Bad upgrade

Do not upgrade to this version, it is causing many problems one of which is failure to open DB

couldnt open db

I couldnt even open a database that I loaded from an https link. The app hangs. Just deleted the app, its useless to me as it is.

1$ waisted, Do Not BUY

Useless app. I was not able to copy my database file using the web server. I was starting the web server, and from my PC I was pushing the database file to the Ipad web server, the file got copied, the database was created, but when trying to open it, it said that the database file is not there. I tried 25 time, no luck. I did not bother using drop box which I would never use, for security reasons. I tried to get my money back from Apple for this app but apparently there is no way. Its a shame, that Apple accepts such crappy applications. On top of that there no support for this app, at all. The web site of the app developer its like made by a 10 years old, there is no way to send at least an email, to ask questions. DO Not BOTHER, do not waste your buck on this. I downloaded the FREE Mini Keepass, I used Itunes to copy the same db file, and boom, it worked right away.

iKeePass

Terrible, mimics name and icon of KeePass but isnt even close. Hope Apple pulls this app for deception

Works perfectly for me

It is sad that there was issues in the past with this app cause it is working quite well for me today... Its score / rank / review should be way better imo. I was looking for an app that can bring my password list from drop box and update with the changes I do anywhere else and it does it perfectly and way better than other apps ive tried.

Key file is required from dropbox, which is a security issue

When connected to a db from dropbox, key file must be from dropbox too
